Edward was born on January 12, 1934 to F. H. Sconiers and Nan Thompson Sconiers. He graduated from DeFuniak Springs High School. Edward served in the United States Marine Corps from 1951-1953 and was a Korean War Combat Veteran. He was Honorably Discharged after his years of service.
Edward worked for NAPA for a time but spent most of his career as a Dekalb County Police Officer. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Masonic Lodge and the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters and brothers-in-law and one brother.
Edward's life will forever be remembered and cherished by his wife, Peggy Sconiers; daughters, Pam West (Ned) and Pat Seale (Carl); sons, Phil Carnes (Kim) and Howell Sconiers; nine grandchildren, Heather Maughon, Brooke Aguilar (Ruben), Andrew Carnes (Danielle), Josh Carnes, Rawlin West (Britany), Joel Crowe (Anna), Brandon Howard (Laura), Blake Seale and Stephen Seale; ten great-grandchildren, Thomas, Morgan, Lexi, Robert, Laiken, Harper, Marshall, Cailan, Julian and Ephraim.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 22, 2021 from 1:00PM until the hour of service at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home-Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia.
Celebration of Life services for Edward Lamon Sconiers will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 2:00PM at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
