Ella was born on May 8, 1935, in Laubenheim, Germany, to Karl and Anna Adam. In July 1960, Ella married the late James Skinner, while he was stationed in Germany with the U.S. military. She later became a proud United States citizen in March 1966, building a life centered around family and hard work. Although Ella's formal education was cut short by World War Il, her sharp mind and curiosity never wavered. She was an avid reader with a knowledge of current and historical events, which she loved to share with those around her.
For many years, Ella was a dedicated stay-at-home mother before beginning a career in the grocery industry, eventually retiring from Cub Foods at the age of 64. Her greatest joy came from caring for her family, especially her cherished grandchildren. She embraced her role as Oma with warmth and love, becoming an integral part of their lives.
Ella will be deeply missed by her three daughters: Shirley Price, Diana (Dale) Harford, and Sylvia (Bill, deceased) Hatfield; her sister Waltraud (Rudolf) Montigny; two granddaughters, Brittany (Caleb) Clements and Kaylie (Logan) Cupp; and her great-grandson Weston Cupp.
At Ella’s request, no public service will be held. Her family takes comfort in the many memories of her love, kindness, and strength, which will live on in all who knew her.
