Jim enjoyed wood carving, hunting, and fishing. Jim was a patriot and served his country in the United States Army and Air Force. He retired from the Ford Motor Company Hapeville plant. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Stockbridge.
Jim is survived by 3 children, Kim and Rodney Porter, Jim & Joanie Weller, and Richard and Melissa Weller. Grandchildren are David Porter, Jimmy and Sarah Weller, Benjamin and Ashley Porter, Kathryn Weller, Coty & Brittany Stewart and Brandon Weller. He is also survived by sisters, Doreen Swisher, Gloria McConnell, and one brother, Donald Weller.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Bethel United Methodist Church, 245 Fairview Road Stockbridge, Georgia. Visitation will be from 12-1pm and the memorial service will begin at 1:00pm in the sanctuary. Services will be officiated by Rev. John Irwin, Rev. Rodney Porter, and Chaplain Jimmy Weller.
