Jeff Mills

Jeff Mills, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on April 8, 2024, at the age of 75. He was born on April 25, 1948, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Phillip and Lizzy Mills.

Jeff met his soulmate, Patricia Jackson, and they celebrated over 55 years of marriage. Their love story began when they were both young and their bond only grew stronger over the years. Together, they raised six wonderful children: Tarry Jeff Mills, Kanthany Latrice Mills, Thiphilius Renard Mills (Valencia Mills), Kimberly Mills, Terrence Jerico Mills, and Karla Latriez Mills. Jeff was a devoted father who loved and supported his children unconditionally.

Jeff dedicated his professional life to the Dekalb County School System, serving for 47 years at Flat Shoals Elementary School. He was dedicated and made a lasting impact on the lives of countless students and faculty members. His colleagues and the school community will remember him for his commitment to excellence and his passion.

Jeff's legacy extends far beyond his immediate family and professional accomplishments. He leaves behind 15 grandchildren: Demetrius Baker, Kiara Scott, Tori Bannerman, Ashley Bioust, Kenya Mills, Keshunna Mills, Khadijah Mills, Kimiliah Mills, Kaneshia Mills, Kandrea Mills, Kamori Mills, Kamari Mills, Thiphilius Mills, Savannah Mills, and Ta-Quasia Miller. He was also a great-grandfather to five beautiful great-grandchildren: Demarcus Scott, Aiyanna Scott, Kennedy Scott, Tristan Turner, and Dashunn Wright.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Patricia Jackson-Mills; six children; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; siblings: Dora Turnipseed (Luther Turnipseed), Nelly Mills, Leroy Mills, Diane Mills, David Mills, and Wayne Mills; and a host of other relatives and dear family friends.

Jeff's life was a testament to love, family, and dedication. He touched the lives of everyone he met and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones and in the many stories told of his life.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024 from 4:00PM-7:00PM in The Heritage Suite at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia. The Celebration of Life for Jeff Mills will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 1:00PM in The Fairview Suite. The Interment will immediately follow in Kennedy Memorial Gardens.
