Joanne N. Thackerson

Joanne was born on August 1, 1935 to Clifford and Josephine Nicholson. She was married to Clark H. Thackerson until his passing. She worked for the State of Georgia as a Legislative Secretary for many years. In her spare time she would often play tennis, softball and water sports, she was very athletic and enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves. Joanne was beautiful and loving inside and out. She loved her family and friends and would do anything for you. Being a strong woman of faith, Joanne attended Eastside Baptist Church where she would fellowship and worship with others.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Josephine Nicholson; husband, Clark H. Thackerson as well as a brother Jerry Nicholson.

Joanne’s life will forever be remembered and cherished by her son Steve (Carolyn) Thackerson of Ellijay, GA, daughters Judy (Greg) Burke of McDonough, GA and Susan (Kerry) Lyon of Atlanta, GA.

A visitation for Joanne will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Horis A. Ward - Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. A funeral will occur Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 1:00 PM, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. An interment will occur Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at Fairview Memorial Gardens, 164 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.
