Joyce was born in Atlanta, GA on July 3rd, 1938. She spent most of her working career at Rich’s and later put her love into homemaking. Joyce enjoyed sewing, movies, Elvis, and above all, singing for Jesus. She is survived by her children, Lisa Parsons of Clayton, Johnny Parsons of Griffin, and Son-in-Love John Stephens of Stockbridge; grandchildren, Crystal Alexander, John Stephens II (Joy), Holden Parsons, Joseph Alexander Jr., Nathan Parsons, John Parsons III, Michael Parsons, and Michelle Cowan; great grandchildren, Jessica Stephens, John Stephens III, Trent and Cameron Alexander, and Lizzy and Elijah Parsons; and nieces and nephews, Gail Sawyer, Darlene Watson, Vickie Claflin, Pam Tibbitts, Bud Fendley, and Ralph and Joy Fields. She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Parsons, along with two children, Leslie Stephens and Barry Parsons; also her parents and several sisters and brothers whom she loved dearly.
The family will receive friends at Horis A. Ward – Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road Stockbridge, GA 30281, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, November 15th, 2020. A graveside funeral service and interment will be held on Monday, November 16th, 2020 at 2:00 PM at College Park Cemetery, 3600 Adams Street College Park, GA 30337; Rev. Alan Burns officiating.
