Larry Donnell Colbert

Larry was born September 17, 1949 in Oglethorpe, Georgia to the parentage of the late Rev. James Benjamin Colbert, Sr. and Mrs. Eula -Pearl Bell Colbert. He was educated in the Bibb County Public School System. He attended Macon State College (formerly Macon Junior College). Larry was drafted into the United States Army in 1969 where he served duty at Fort Lenoard Wood, Missouri; Fort Knox, Kentucky; Seoul, Korea and Stuttgart, Germany. On February 13, 1971, he was united in Holy matrimony to his high school sweetheart, Ruby Lee Williams. In this union three children were born: Deanna, who died in infancy, Christopher Donnale, and Garrett Lee Colbert.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Sidney, Troy, and James Colbert, and one sister, Juanita Colbert Sands. Larry leaves his cherished memories his loving wife, Ruby, two sons, Christopher and Garrett Colbert, two brothers Calvin (Savannah) Colbert of Macon, Raymond Colbert of Decatur and one sister, Clara Colbert Turner of Atlanta; five grandchildren: Erick, Torin, Jalen, Mileena, and Ian including a host of relatives and friends.

Military honors and a celebration of his life will be held for Larry on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home - Fairview Chapel | 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.
