LaVerne Rowden

LaVerne was born on October 25, 1954 in Augusta, Georgia to Millard and Iris Peters.

LaVerne was a loving wife, mama, mawmaw, sister and dear friend. Her greatest joy was family time with her children and grandchildren, whom she adored. Occasional lunch dates and girl trips with siblings and friends just added to the joy in her life. She was always dedicated to her faith in God and instilled that in all of those around her. She was a true role model for everyone. Our hearts are breaking here on earth, but we rejoice in knowing we will be reunited in God's time.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Millard Peters and Iris Peters; brother, Jimmy Peters; mother-in-law, Myrl Cash; sister-in-law, Gayle Peters.

LaVerne's life will forever be honored and cherished by her husband, Stewart Rowden; daughters, Christine Denham (Kevin) and Jacquelyn Dockery (Jason); grandchildren, Hunter, Alexis, Reese, Alan and Travis; brothers, Clayton Peters (Cindy) of Denver, Colorado and Pete Peters of Griffin, Georgia; sister, Norma Jean Peters Brannen (Larry) of McDonough, Georgia; sisters-in-law, Wanda Peters of Stockbridge, Georgia and Leslie Henderson of Griffin, Georgia; a host of other relatives and family friends.

A visitation for LaVerne will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 10:00AM-11:00AM at Horis A. Ward - Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281 with a Celebration of Life beginning at 11:00AM with Pastor Steve Reeves of Christ Community Church and Pastor David Morris of Crossover Ministries, officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens, 164 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.
