Margaret Vance

VANCE, Margaret Mrs. Margaret Shropshire Vance, age 84 of Ellenwood went to be with the Lord Sunday, February 24, 2013. Born January 24, 1929 to the late Ben B. and Beatrice Cheatham Shropshire. Margaret graduated from Girls High in Atlanta and had a long career in the mechanical contracting business. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.Lamar Vance Sr., together they were charter members of Grace Presbyterian Church, but Margaret later became a faithful member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Ellenwood. She was a loving sister, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a wonderful friend to all and a gracious hostess, always opening her door to family and friends. She and her husband had two sons Robert L. Vance Jr. (wife, Rose), Gary Vance, and a daughter Connie Vance Hinshaw (husband, Randall); five granddaughters, Tracy, Terri, Toni, Leigh, and Robin, and fourteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 27, from 6-8 and funeral Services will be held, Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 2pm at the Horis A. Ward Fairview Chapel at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Claire Yoder officiating with interment to follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
