

Sister MaryJoyce Mitchell was born January 13, 1943 to the late Moses and Fousteen Mitchell in Columbus Mississippi; she was the third child of 10 children. MaryJoyce, accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age at the Newstead Baptist Church in St. Louis, Missouri. She attended the St. Louis School system and went on to further her education at the University of Phoenix earning her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration.
MaryJoyce was an avid learner as well as an educator, she loved teaching and sharing the word of God. She worked for the State of California holding many positions. She last worked as a substitute teacher for the Gwinnett County School district and did private tutoring in spare time, while attending Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) for seven years studying the Gospels. MaryJoyce loved to travel she visited the Grand Canyon, but her most remunerable trip was to Israel, Jerusalem “The Holyland” where she was baptized in the Jordan River. MaryJoyce was a remarkable woman, sharing her knowledge and love for Jesus Christ with everyone she came in contact with, as being a member of World Changers Church, International in College, GA, she set out to change the world one person at a time.
She leaves behind her children to cherish her memories: Connie R. Taylor (Michael), Steven D.Curry, Herbert A. Curry, Cynthia M. Curry, Tyan M. Curry, J. Nicole Curry and David V.Curry; 20 Grandchildren and 29 Great-grandchildren. Her Siblings: Vanery R. Mitchell, Carl Mitchell (Idella), Barry K. Mitchell (Gail), Leo A. Mitchell, Michael M. Mitchell (Mildred) and Zayed O. Tokunbo Newsom (Wilburt), including a wealth of longtime and new friends across the globe. Those that preceded her in death are: Father Moses M. Mitchell, Mother Fousteen Walden- Mitchell, Sister Myrtle M. Johnson, Sister Karen L. Brown and Brother Autry J. Mitchell.
