Peggy O'Neal McKinnon Epps

Peggy was the wife of a career Army Veteran and raised two children. She retired from AAFES, Forest Park, GA after many years of service. Peggy was the oldest of five children of John Collon McKinnon and Pattie Lewis Hunt McKinnon. She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, MSG Ralph Andrew Epps, retired, her parents and her siblings: Faye McKinnon Crowe, Larry "Moe" McKinnon, Johnny Hunt McKinnon and Debbie Elaine McKinnon Willis.

Peggy leaves behind her children: Ralph Edward Epps, Athens, GA and Sharon Epps Sheppard (Tony), Hull, Georgia; grandson, William Sheppard (Laura), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, granddaughter, Rachel Bryan (Nathan) and great-grandchildren, Matthias Bryan, Lunarae Bryan, Alana Bryan and Reid Sheppard as well as her siblings' families.

Peggy poured and painted ceramics and wood to sell and give for many years. There were many craft events from GA to SC that Peggy's Crafts exhibited. She loved Christmas. It was her most wonderful time of the year! Peggy faithfully attended her church at The Church at Jodeco for many years. Peggy gave her heart to Christ at a young age at her childhood Methodist church.

It is with much gratitude we thank the Jodeco church family for many years of love and support to the family. The following showed their consistent love and care, with dignity, of Peggy since November 1, 2021: Arbor Terrace of Athens, The Landing at Bogart, The Orchard of Athens and specifically Rhonda, Asia, Lisa, Amanda, Peter, Necosha and Mary. Her physicians were Transitional Care Physicians of America and Agape Hospice.

Funeral services are provided by Horis A. Ward, Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia. Pastor Keith Fleming is officiating. Viewing is at the chapel on Saturday, October 5 , 2024 at 11:00 a.m. to noon with the service following thereafter.

Her interment is scheduled for Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Georgia National Cemetery, 2025 Mt. Carmel Church Road, Canton, Georgia.
