So sad to learn that Ralph had passed away.  He was a friend and spiritual leader in our class.  Soft spoken but always willing to help.  He was the "hind-catcher" on the Stockbridge Little League team and helped us win a few games as our team leader.  Brings back some fond memories.  Ralph, know that we appreciated your kind nature and will miss you.  JMB

Ralph was a good man and always treated others respectfully.  Julia and I send our sincere and deep sympathies to his family and we wish you all peace and comfort.

I went all the way through achool with Ralph.  Years ago I had moved and couldn't get a phone for two weeks.  I contacted Ralph and he came the same day and put a phone in for me.  He was always kind and giving 
  I loved him and he was always just sweet Ralph

My sympathy to the family and friends of my old friend Ralph.   

Most people who know Ralph in his later years probably knew that he was an enthusiastic fisherman and hunter as well a dedicated Southern Bell repairman and supervisor.  But many may not have known that he also served Henry County for several years as a volunteer Reserve Deputy Sheriff and volunteer Reserve County Police Officer.  This was during the first major growth spurt in Henry County in the late 1970’s through the Late 1980’s as responsibility for county law enforcement fluctuated between brown and blue uniforms.  In those days many Public Safety functions across the U.S. embraced trained volunteers to help provide supplemental emergency service staffing for Fire Services, Law Enforcement, and Radio Dispatchers particularly before 911 telephone fees existed.  Additionally, taxes were lower and insufficient to add full-time personnel and the public service volunteer spirit still existed.  

It may not be widely known that Ralph was also a partner in the first major retail gun shop in Stockbridge.  He and two friends opened “The Firing Line” it was located in the shopping center at on the Northwest corner of Hwy 138 and Hwy 42 when both were 2 lane roads (the shopping center is still there).  The shop was open for about 10 years before competition from Walmart and demand from their full-time work cause The Firing Line to close.  

Bobby, Karie, Jeremy and family, please know that you all are in our hearts and prayers as you deal with the loss of your dad. Know that we are with you in spirit and  praying for peace of mind as you encounter the coming days without him.

Ralph was one on the nicest people I knew in high school. He was the one who always called me to get me to class reunions, and the first of our classmates to retire.  We will miss his smiling face and bright eyes.    James Gardner, SHS Class of '67.

My thoughts and prayers to the Family. I was very sad to learn Ralph had passed away. He was a great person and a great friend.  I have some great memories of Ralph at SHS. He was very active in planning our class reunions and I thank him for that. - Richard Cook - Class of 67.

Knew Ralph well through the Phone Company. Haven't talked to him in a couple years. Ralph was one of the Good Guys. Sad to hear this.






We had alot of fun and fond memories with Ralph at the Henry County Moose Lodge, Motorheads, Shawn O Bryans , the river house and going to Gwinnett to see some baseball and Mexican food nights. Gona miss u ralph ur smile and kindness when u came to burke county loved seeing u rest in peace for u r walking with god our savior above and with my maw and paw Johnson we will miss u !! May god comfort the family and guid them with strenght and wisidom ! Prayer from my family 

I first remember Ralph from 9th grade football practice before school had started. He always had a giant smile and was very accepting of us in the Fairview clan; Mrs. Lee had a little trouble with that. I have not kept up with Ralph,  but I hate hearing he is gone. At least we spoke with one another at the re-unions. Rest in peace my friend, and I pray you were met in heaven with open arms.

My memories of Ralph go back 60 plus years as kids in school.  He was a sweet caring & funny guy.  We had a good time at our school reunions over the years.  RIP Ralph!!

So sorry to learn that Ralph has passed away.  I still remember his calm words and positive spirit when we played Little League baseball in Stockbridge.  He was the calm catcher and I was the anxious pitcher.  We had some great times.  He was a great man and friend. - Joe Broder  - SHS Class of 67
