Richard Levi Ethridge, Sr.

Richard Levi Ethridge Sr., age 81, of Sharpsburg, GA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. He was surrounded by the love of his family, who will cherish the profound impact he had on all of their lives.

Richard was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 43 years, Linda Lue Ethridge. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and treasured memories that their children and grandchildren will forever hold dear.

Richard is preceded in death by his wife Linda Ethridge, daughter Brenda Jones, son in law Danny McConley, mom & dad Julia Mae & Otis Ethridge, sister & brother in law Jewel & Jack Watkins, brother & sister in law Buddy & Julia Pearl Ethridge, sister & brother in law Annie Mie & Roland Collins, sister in law & brother in law Betty & James Roland Collins (also nephew).

Richard is survived by his loving children Cindy, Nicki (Don), Ricky, and Dickie (Dana), each of whom inherited his strong character and sense of compassion. As a father, his guidance was invaluable, and his unconditional love served as a safety net under his family's dreams. As well as his brother Gene Ethridge (Pat) and Jean & Fred Dunn (sister &brother-in-law)

He took great joy in his role as a grandfather to his cherished grandchildren: Candi (Trey), Miranda (Rob), DJ, Britney, Ryan (Taylor), Corey (Jessica), Kayla (Bear), Steffani (Bernard), Steven (Alyssa), Zack, and Chelsea. Richard embraced each moment spent with his grandchildren, instilling in them the values of kindness, tenacity, and the importance of family.

The joy of being a great-grandfather expanded Richard’s heart, welcoming into the world his great-grandchildren: Brandon, Christian, Katie, Savannah, Alexis, Peyton, Jalen, Veda, Rylee, Bryce, Janie Lue, Colby, and Aralynn, Waylon, Joshua, Bella, Skyla, Marlee, Levi, Ellaree, Cason, Tristan, Lliam, Blayne, Cash, Hudson, Emersyn, and Rain; as well as great-great grandchildren: Langston and Brynlee, along with many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

A visitation of family and friends will be held for Richard on Monday, February 17, 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home - Fairview Chapel | 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. A celebration of his life will take place in Ward's Chapel, immediately following visitation. Services will conclude with a graveside committal at 3:00 PM at Fairview Memorial Gardens | 164 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.
