Mrs. Sarah "Betty" Elizabeth (Jernegan) Neal

Mrs. Neal attended Peoples Baptist Church, McDonough, Georgia under the leadership of Pastor David McCoy.

Sarah was born on November 18,1923 in Collins, Georgia to John Carswell Jernegan and Mary Lee Sanders.

Sarah retired from Harper Trucking after many years of service as a Lease Clerk. She loved cooking for her family and others, visiting shut-ins, gardening and making floral arrangements. She loved reading her Bible and going to church. She was a wonderful Sunday School teacher for years.

Sarah was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Herman T. Neal, Sr.; parents; two brothers, Hubert Jernegan and James Jernegan; daughter, Mary Ann Neal; grandson, Brent Neal and great-granddaughter, Amanda Neal.

Her life will forever be remembered by her loving family, sons, Herman Thomas Neal, Jr. (Becky) and John W. Neal (Marla); daughter, Katherine White (Jesse); nine grandchildren, Brent Neal (Tina), Greg Neal (Heather), Michelle Roach (Wesley), Mark Neal (Lori), Patrick Neal (Stacey), Michael White (Kelley), Paul Neal, Pamela Peck (Aaron) and Tim Neal; twenty-three great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a host of other relatives and friends, including the staff and residents of Oaks of Ashton Hills Assisted Living in Covington, Georgia.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Neal will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at 11:00AM at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home - Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia with Dr. David McCoy, Dr. Tom Neal and Dr. Greg Neal, officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens.

Friends may visit the family at the funeral home Monday, November 11, 2019 from 6:00 - 8:00PM and on Tuesday November 12, 2019 from 10:00 - 11:00AM.
