Tava F Kirk

She was born on July 23, 1948, in Sylva, North Carolina, to William Rex Frizzell and Margie Beck. In 1964, she moved to Georgia, where she and her husband, Jim, built their life together in Ellenwood.

Tava was defined by her unwavering kindness and her dedication to the things she cared about. She worked at Cox Broadcasting for 34 years as an administrative assistant. She was extremely dedicated to her career and truly loved her time there.

Outside of work, her life revolved around her faith and her family. For over 30 years, she was heavily involved in Bethel Methodist Church. She was a constant presence there, helping organize events, creating church bulletins, and volunteering her time wherever it was needed.

At home, she was a devoted wife to Jim Kirk. They shared a true partnership, having been together for 58 years and married for

56. In retirement, they did everything together. They loved taking trips to the mountains and going camping. When they were at home, Tava almost always had a fire going in the fireplace, where she enjoyed watching sports especially NASCAR-and spending time with Jim.

She had a deep love for animals and supported numerous charities throughout her life. She also loved her family dearly, and she was known for telling stories about her nieces and nephews from when they were growing up.

Tava is survived by her husband, Jim Kirk; her uncle, Bobby Beck; her brother-in-law, John Huot; her sister-in-law, Judy Huot; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, William W. (Bill) Frizzell; her sister-in-law, Paula Frizzell; and her nephew, Robert Frizzell.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at Bethel Methodist Church, located at 245 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia, 30281, on December 12, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Another visitation will take place at the same location on December 13, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.

The Celebration of Life will be conducted on December 13, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Bethel Methodist Church. Following the service, interment will occur at Fairview Memorial Gardens, 164 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia, 30281, at 2:00 pm.
