Thelma A. Wesley, age 95, of Stockbridge, GA passed away on September 20, 2019. She was born to the late Ernest and Lula Chambers in Fairfield, AL on June 12, 1924. She retired from the US Postal Service after 22 years of service and from Walmart, where she worked as a Greeter for 20 years. She was a big fan of the Atlanta Braves. She loved to fish and she loved spending time with her only grandchild Katherine. She will be missed by all who know and love her.
Her parents, her husband of 62 years; James “Jimmy” D. Wesley and her son PFC Lamar Wesley, who was killed in Vietnam, preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory her two sons; Danny (Robbie) Wesley of Stockbridge, GA and Kenny (Kim) Wesley of Damascus, GA, her granddaughter; Katherine (Brian) Wheeler of Villa Rica, GA, her nephew; Fred Chambers of Birmingham, AL, her nieces; Sherry Whitfield of Stockbridge, GA and Gwen Huckabee of McDonough, GA, a host of other relatives and friends.
Family and friends will be received for a visitation on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 from 6 PM to 8 PM at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home located at 376 Fairview Rd in Stockbridge, GA. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at 2 PM in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will take place at Stockbridge City Cemetery.
