He was a precocious child. He attended Fernbank Elementary School and Southwest Dekalb High School where he excelled on the school's Wrestling Team and Drama Team.
He worked as surveyor for Lowe's Engineering where he had the opportunity to travel around the United States visiting and staying in New York, New York and New Orleans, Louisiana.
Zerick was an avid toy collector who enjoyed buying, playing and sharing with friends and family toys he had found.
Zerick had one child, Zemario James Riley.
He is survived by his mother(Mildred), father(Zollie), stepfather(Dennis), son(Zemario and his mother Linda), brothers, Zackary, Dennis Jr., Zoldrick, and Zemarcus; sisters, Parthenia, Reginia, and Monique; aunts Daisy, Joann and Johnnie Mae; uncles Joseph and Johnny, Jr. and a host of cousins.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, GA30281.
