

Charlene Viola (Smith) McTeer passed away peacefully at home on August 6, 2015. She was born February 7, 1929 in Sterling, Illinois and moved to California when she was 11 years of age. She married Edward “Jim” McTeer on May 20, 1947 and after sharing 67 years of marriage, she missed him dearly since his passing in December, 2014. She was a homemaker, an amazing cook, an expert bridge player and enjoyed working in the garden. She and Jim loved entertaining in their home, dancing, traveling, camping in their fifth wheel, golfing, fishing and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her children Sandie Beauchemin (Richard) and Robert “Bob” McTeer (Patti) and by grandchildren; Derek (Erin) and Ryan (Virginia) Beauchemin, Corrine (Ross) Vollstedt, Jessica (Jason) Anderson, Colton and Courtney McTeer. Granddaughter Alaina McTeer precedes her in death. She is also survived by great-grandchildren; Layla, Blase and Ethan Anderson, Peyton Beauchemin, Reagan and Julia Vollstedt. She was also anxiously awaiting the arrival of her seventh great-grandchild, expected to be born to Derek and Erin in September, 2015. Funeral services are planned for Friday, August 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM at DeYoung Shoreline Chapel. Visitation for Charlene will be on Thursday 8/13/2015 from 10am to 5pm also at DeYoung Shoreline Chapel.
