

area, Cleo R. Vieira passed
away peacefully on January 25,
2015. She was born, March 2,
1922 in Lathrop, CA to Frank
Reichmuth and Hilda (Gyr)
Reichmuth, both immigrants
from Switzerland.
Graduated from Manteca High
School and was a long-time
member of the San Joaquin
Valley Swiss Club in Ripon.
She was employed at Sharpe
Depot in Lathrop and volunteered
many hours in San Joaquin
hospital to assist the WWII
effort.
A cattle rancher's wife, Cleo was
dedicated to her late husband of
55 years Robert Vieira and their
cattle business in Tracy and Livermore.
Cleo was the support
system for the family business
doing everything from bookkeeping
to cooking and delivering to
the fields large, caring lunches
for all the good neighbors who
came to help work cattle.
She was a "foodie" well before
the term was coined. Whether it
was a Swiss dish or from any
other ethnic origin, it was always
delicious and full of love.
Cleo is predeceased by her parents,
husband Robert Vieira, and
sister Frances LeMieux.
She is survived by her son,
Robert (Tamara) Vieira and
grandson Michael; daughter
Hyldi (Glenn) Vieira; cousin
Walter (Joanne) Gyr and family;
Doris, Marie-Louise and Sylvia
Gyr, Henry (Doris) Sciaroni and
numerous loving nieces and
nephews, Janet (Jim) Lemos,
John (Chris) LeMieux, and Tom
(Kim) LeMieux.
Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 2
from 3-6 pm at DeYoung Memorial
Chapel, 601 N. California
St. Rosary will begin at 6 pm. A
Funeral Mass will be Tues. Feb.
3, 11 am at Cathedral of Annunciation,
425 W. Magnolia St.
