David A. Hartley

May 28, 1938 – March 2, 2011

David Allen Hartley passed away March 2, 2011 at the age of 72 in Pleasanton, CA from complications due to PSP (Parkinson’s Plus.) He was born in Portland, Oregon on May 28, 1938. He graduated from Grant High School in Portland and got his BS at the University of Tampa, Florida. David served proudly in the United States Army for 26 years starting as a Private and retiring as a Lt. Colonel. He was a decorated Vietnam Veteran. His interests in life were hunting, fishing, his flower garden and he was an avid reader. He was preceded in death by his mom, Edna Mae Jett Hartley, his father, Arley Hartley and by his two brothers, Donald E. Hartley and Gordon R. Hartley. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Freida G. Hartley of Manteca, CA, his sister, Audrey H. Baugh(Bill) of Tacoma, WA and a brother, Arley E. Hartley(Mira) of Portland, OR. He is also survived by 8 nieces and nephews. Burial will be at Skyline Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home in Portland, OR. Frisbie-Warren & Carroll Mortuary assisted the family with the arrangements.
