Esther Troutman

Mrs. Esther Troutman, age 91, of Stockton, passed away early Thursday morning, December 4, 2025, at Dameron Hospital. She was born August 25, 1934, in Jalisco, Mexico, a daughter of the late Maria Comparan and Manuel Contreras.

She relocated from Mexico to Texas briefly during her younger years before settling permanently in Stockton, California. She had two children with her first husband, Leonardo Longoria, who died young. She eventually remarried Leslie Troutman, with whom she welcomed two more children.

Throughout her life, Esther dedicated many years to her craft as a talented tailor, working for respected businesses in downtown Stockton before taking the bold step to open her own clothing alterations shop. Her entrepreneurial spirit and unwavering work ethic earned her the admiration of colleagues and customers alike. Beyond her career, Esther found joy in her garden, lovingly tending to her plants and flowers. She was also known for her delicious homemade meals, family and friends often gathered around her table to enjoy her flavorful dishes and comforting baked treats. Esther’s warm home was made livelier by the companionship of her beloved pets, who brought her endless delight and affection. Above all, she treasured the moments spent surrounded by her loved ones, sharing laughter and stories that will be cherished for generations.

Esther was preceded in death by her first husband Leonardo Longoria, second husband, Leslie Troutman, and sister Concepcion Contreras.

She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, John Longoria, Ernesto Longoria and wife Suzette, Albert Troutman and wife Laura, William Troutman and wife Kimberly; grandchildren, John Longoria Jr., Gabriella Stone, Stephanie Villanueva, Samantha Longoria, Mariano Garcia, Richard Longoria, Raymond Longoria, Daniel Troutman, Jacob Troutman, Leslie Troutman, Kara Tracy, Caitlyn Peterson, and William A. Troutman. In addition, her memory lives on with her many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
