Federico Negrete Ortiz, 79, passed away on October 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Known fondly in México as “El Perico and Comisario,” and lovingly called “Apá” by his children, Federico lived a life rooted in hard work, love, and devotion to his family.
Federico was one of 11 siblings born in El Taray, Mexico and married the love of his life, Eustolia Negrete Gonzalez, at age 21. Together, they shared 58 years of marriage; their life was filled with love, laughter, and unwavering commitment. He is survived by his 9 children, 38 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren who carry forward his values, looks, and spirit. Federico was a husband and father who brought his wife and children to the United States in pursuit of a better life.
Federico was a proud and hardworking farmer for 65 years, dedicating his life to the land and to providing for those he loved. Even after decades of hard work, Federico’s energy, humor, and love for life never faded. He found peace and joy in tending to his garden, where his hands and heart were always busy growing something beautiful. He also loved spending time on TikTok and Facebook, sharing laughs, keeping up with loved ones, and spreading happiness to everyone who knew him.
Federico provided for his family with strength, resilience, and sacrifice until God called him to his heavenly home.
His lifelong love for farm life began in San Vicente, where he worked as a sugar cane farmer. Federico took great pride in the land, especially in learning to drive a tractor and he spent his final years sharing that same love with his family. On any given day, you would find him in the early morning sun, hat in hand, walking through the garden or fields, watering his trees and caring for the land with joy and dedication.
Federico will forever be remembered for his resilience, strength, humor, and the stubbornness that made him uniquely him. His warm jokes could brighten even the darkest days, and his work ethic inspired everyone around him. His spirit lives on through his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who loved him.
Though we will miss his presence, we will forever feel him in the roots he planted, in the strength he passed down, and in the seeds of love that will continue to grow across generations.
Tus manos sembraron la tierra, pero tu corazón sembró amor en cada uno de nosotros.
