

Gladys Leora Fitch was born September 24, 1913 in Stroud, Oklahoma to Ella Scott Seward and Tommy Seward. Gladys had two brothers, Richard Seward and Hubert Seward, two sisters, Fannie Adams and Lena Patterson all deceased. Three Stepsisters, Willa Equarte, Bobbie Williams and Alberta Lucas, all deceased. Gladys first husband, Jessie Brooks (deceased) had one daughter, Opal Reed residing in Stockton, Ca. Gladys journeyed from Stroud, Oklahoma and lived in Merced and Oakland, Ca.
Gladys worked as a domestic worker and seamstress. Gladys journeyed to Stockton, Ca. and married Audron Wallace Fitch Sr. and they had three children, Audron Jr., Barbara Fitch, and Morlyn Woods. Gladys leaves a host of nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Gladys united with Second Baptist Church in Stockton where she served diligently for many years as a member of the Mass Choir and on the Deaconess Board. After leaving the Second Baptist Church, Gladys and Audron Fitch Sr. united with the Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Samuel Smith Jr. Pastor, where she served as a Deaconess. Gladys was a dutiful homemaker and a loving mother, taking care of her family, which we all are truly grateful.
Gladys was a Christian woman who loved the Lord. Even when Gladys became ill, she continued to Praise the Lord and attended Church whenever possible. Gladys will truly be missed by all of her family and friends.
