

Joey is survived by his loving wife, Katie Shepherd and his adoring children Kayla Kristyne “Bubba”, Sailor Olivea “Liv” and Scout Cooper “Coop” Shepherd. Joey is survived by his loving siblings, Gina Kent (Bill), Shelby Spence (Bart), Timothy Shepherd (Bria), Alexandria Reising (Jason) and Justin (Lauren) O’Laughlin. Joey is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews, Xander, Zakary and William Kent, Samantha, Sydney and Mason Spence, Hunter, Hayden and Huxley Shepherd, Jett and Jack Reising and Henry and Ava O’Laughlin.
Joey was born on March 22, 1987 in Stockton, California to Patrick & Alicia Shepherd. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 2005 and married the love of his life and childhood sweetheart, Katie O’Laughlin in 2014.
Joey earned his Bachelor of Science Nursing degree and was an ICU nurse, CCRN, relief charge nurse and preceptor at Dameron Hospital. Joey was loved and respected by his coworkers and was a caring and dedicated nurse who made a profound impact on all those that he served. Joey had a smile that would light up a room and an infectious laugh that would fill the hearts of his family, friends and all whom he met. His dedication to his family and to caring for others were the cornerstones of his life. Joey led a life of service.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at DeYoung Shoreline Chapel, 7676 Shoreline Dr., Stockton, CA with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Catholic Burial, Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Presentation, 1515 W. Benjamin Holt Dr., Stockton, CA. Burial to follow Mass at the San Joaquin County Catholic Cemetery, 719 E. Harding Way. Luncheon to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Brookside Country Club, 3603 Saint Andrews Drive, Stockton, CA.
