Joseph Jesse Hinojos Sr.

Joseph is survived by his wife Louise; children, Michele (Willard) Woods, Joseph (Erica) Hinojos Jr, and Patricia Hinojos; 7 granddaughters and 8 great grandchildren; siblings, Frances Campelo, Mary Ann Lovato, George Hinojos, and Madeline Hinojos. Joseph and Louise were blessed with 9 godchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Hinojos & Genevieve Santana-Hinojos; his siblings Valentine “Val” Hinojos, Andrea Rice, Nellie Hinojos, Richard Hinojos, Frank Hinojos Jr., Phillip Hinojos, and Bobby Hinojos.

Joseph was born on August 23, 1941 in Stockton, California to Frank and Genevieve. He married Louise Cruz, his high school sweetheart in 1965. He then began working for Tillie Lewis Can Company as a forklift driver. Over 5 years, the couple welcomed three children into their home. His children remember him as a patient and caring dad who was very hands on and always present.

Joseph was number one driver at the can plant for 36 years. He was a generous, dedicated individual who loved fishing, camping, and keeping up his yard. He could often be found with a beer in his hand, dancing with Louise on the dance floor, or sitting in front of a slot machine. Joseph was passionate about his family, always asking about his kids. He was a dedicated member of the Cathedral of the Annunciation.

A Rosary will be held on August 17, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at DeYoung Memorial Chapel at 601 N California Street in Stockton. The funeral is scheduled for August 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Cathedral of the Annunciation at 400 W Rose Street in Stockton. A final resting place will occur at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery, 719 E.
