LaMar it’s been a year; with the guidance of Jesus I wouldn’t know how to make it but I did and my flesh says it was hard but God let me walk through like it was yesterday.  I miss you more than words can express, I miss the “I love you, Momz” and every time you greeted me, you greeted me feeling I am loved despite what you were going through.  You will always be my first, loving you always Momz

Now the dust has settled,   busy has stopped! Brother  this heart felt  pain is horrible. Just keep your loving wings around me and our family.  Watch over me and make each day better than the last. 

I’ve known Lamar since 4th grade at Madison. We both had such competitive spirits in high school. So much so that we weren’t allowed to be on the same team in High School P.E class. People would say “you guys its just P.E.  In P.E during the physical fitness week Lamar held my feet when I broke the school record in sit ups! I asked “what’s the school record?” The teacher replied “63” I then said “I’m gonna get 64, Lamar hold my feet.” 

Another memory I have is when Lamar pulled a muscle in his leg; hamstring during track season and left the ice on too long.  Like “fell asleep” left on too long. 

We also enjoyed venting back and forth about our shared opinions regarding politics. We always seemed to be on the same page! 

I think back now and wish that we stayed in touch more and hung out as the platonic friends we always were. I will always cherish our fond memories and talks.

I didnt realize that I had so many memories of my big Cousin but I do. Im sharing a special one next week but Ill share a funny story here. 

When I first moved back to Stockton in 2012/2013 I moved to Weston Ranch about 4 doors down from LaMar. He was so excited that we moved in, he felt like the big big Cousin because he was looking out for family and the house and it worked out for me because I felt safe and secure knowing he was close! About four months into living in the area, my family and I went on a week long trip. Forgetting that HOA was big there, I left my trash out. About three days after the trash got picked up I called Cousin LaMar and asked him if he could bring my trash can back…he did and scolded me about leaving it out. I brushed it off like okay okay…Two weeks later I got a letter in the mail from HOA giving me a warning about my trash, at the bottom is was signed HOA President LaMar D. Mitchell! I was floored, lol. He took his job so serious, I couldn't help but respect it. Till this day I make sure my trash is put away immediately and chuckle every time. 

Im going to miss you big Cousin - I love you and thank you for always staying true to who you are!

i have so many memories with you cuddy,  i have said this so many times to you when you were here to your face and ill continue to say it still, i sincerely thank you for coming to my place, and telling me to get up cause you were gonna give me a job, you gave me the job, it lasted awhile and it gave me the encouragement to throw myself out there and excel in this adult portion of my life. Thank you for always cheering for me, thank you for giving me that huge boost at putting my life on track, i thank you. i love you. and i will never forget you. 

I’ve known Lamar since I was probably 9 years old his Grandparents lived across the street from Me on Howard street, Every summer I used to wait for Lamar and Toni to come over so We could enjoy playing together, Hide N Seek was our neighborhood favorite 😻. My deepest condolences go out entire family and his memory will forever live with Me. 

My 1st experience meeting Lamar was my sophomore yr in highschool running track for Edison Highschool,and he beat me my very 1st highschool meet. I was like this dude was big and fast and a total gentleman afterwards and we became friends and rivals afterwards. Gonna miss you big guy. Rip
