Leck was born on October 3rd, 1935 in the village of Mokton in the province of Louangphabang of the country of Laos. There he married his first wife La in 1950 and after her death married his second wife Ley in 1963. There he was leader of his village until he and his family immigrated as refugees to the United States of America in November of 1979, settling in the city of Stockton, California. Here he worked as a farmer for 20 years. He raised 7 children who provided 26 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Leck had a passion for farming and crafting. He spent the majority of his life in the United States applying his cultivating skills of his home country to tending to farm lands he worked on in the city of French Camp, CA. His innate green thumb was also reflected at home where you can find lush gardens full of succulent crops right in his home backyard. Leck also had a passion for crafting which made him proficient in basket weaving, fishing net braiding and also being able to construct a multitude of different tools from scratch. This all coincided with his love of the outdoors where he thoroughly enjoyed the regular family camping trips out in the forests of Northern California. After immigrating to the United States, Leck also adopted a love for many of the entertainment offerings of American culture. During his times of rest and relaxation you could find him alongside his wife enjoying blockbuster action movies, vibrant nature documentaries, the intense drama of Professional Wrestling or chuckling along to the classic slapstick comedy offerings of the Three Stooges. Above all else, he was known for his devotion to family and tradition, his intense leadership qualities and his dutiful and compassionate spirit.
Leck was preceded in death by his father Mao and his mother Ngei. He is survived by his wife Ley, six children; Khamsing, Der, Onsee, Daisy, Somkeo and Michael along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
A viewing service will be held on Thursday, September 26th, 2019 from 2pm – 7pm at the DeYoung Memorial Chapel at 601 N. California St in Stockton, CA.
