

Louie Airola, a lifelong resident of Stockton, CA, passed away at the age of 101, leaving behind a legacy rich in love, humor, and resilience. Born to Italian immigrants, Louie was a proud blend of the American dream and Italian traditions. A devout Catholic and a member of the Knights of Columbus, he lived a life anchored in faith and community values.
Louie served as a plane mechanic in World War II, a role that defined his deep-seated patriotism. He was married for 69 years to his beloved wife, Louise, until her passing in 2012. Together, they raised two sons, Don (Donna) and Gary (Carla), and were the loving grandparents to Debbie (Mike), Jennifer (Eric), Stephen, Stephanie (Rafael), and Stacy (Dale). Louie was also a cherished great-grandfather to 13 and a great-great-grandfather to 2, taking immense pride in his five-generation family.
Louie's passions included the great outdoors, his adventures at casinos, and staying up to date with technology. Known for his unique problem-solving skills and his quick wit, Louie was a beloved figure in his family and community.
Louie Airola's journey of faith, love, service, and laughter will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers the Airola family asks that donations be made to wounded warriors in honor of Louie or to a charity of your choice.
DeYoung Shoreline Chapel is honored to serve the Airola family. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 3-7pm at DeYoung Shoreline Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at 10:30am followed by a burial at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery.
