Lyle Owen Burgess

Lyle is preceded by his parents, Owen and Edith, his wives Paula and Vicki, and his sister Marylin Welch. He is survived by his sons Dale and Danny, daughter-in-law Christina, and their children Ryan, Elizabeth, and Ayden.

Growing up, Lyle had a passion for cars, which led him to a lifelong career in automotive. Lyle was a well-known businessman in Stockton. He owned Hewitt Alinement Service from 1965 to 1988. While in the alignment business, he noticed a need for steering and suspension parts for older vehicles, and he founded Rare Parts Incorporated in 1981 to meet that need. Lyle grew this company to be known worldwide through his hard work and dedication until his retirement in 2016. His company still operates to this day. In addition, Lyle belonged to and contributed to many automotive associations, sharing his passion for the industry.

Lyle’s marriage to Paula Giorgi redefined his feeling of family when he became part of her close, multi-generation family. The Burgess home became the gathering point for holidays and other family events. The Giorgi family had a decades-long tradition of vacationing together in Leggett, California's beautiful redwoods. Lyle enjoyed this tradition and understood its importance, so he spearheaded the property purchase in the late 1980s. This property and tradition are still enjoyed by cousins, close family friends, Lyle’s children, and grandchildren.

The family members that have gone before welcome him back to the multi-generation family table. Those of us who have yet to follow know that our place is being held at that table. We do not know when our time here will end, but we can look forward to being with our family again.
