

Mario John Milani, 80 or Stockton passed away peacefully on October 9, 2014. He was born in San Rafael to Louis and Teresa Milani. He graduated from Petaluma High School and California Polytechnic College, San Louis Obispo. He served in the United States Air Force and Air Force Reserves. He married Virginia Albertoni on September 13, 1958. They were married 56 years.
His career as a civil engineer for the USDA-National Reserves Conservation Service began in 1955. He enjoyed a productive 46 ½ year career. During his employment he worked on construction issues in California, Nevada, Washington, Utah, Hawaii, Iowa, and the Pacific Basin. He received many awards and certificates. Throughout his career he made many lifelong friends.
He was active in Little League Baseball and Indian Guides when his children were young. After his retirement he worked as an Earth Team volunteer for NRCS. He enjoyed NRCS retirement luncheons for many years.
Throughout his life he enjoyed woodworking, cooking, gardening, camping, and playing with his children and grandchildren.
Mario is survived by his wife, Virginia, sons Paul and David and wife Patty, daughter Janet Montano and husband Ronald; grandchildren Marcus Milani and wife Mercedes, Steven Milani, Giovanni and Isabelle Montano; great granddaughter Penelope Milani; brother Raymond Milani and wife Lucille, and sister Diana Milani.
Friends and family are invited to visit at Deyoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California St. Stockton on Thursday October 16 from 1-6 pm. Rosary at 6 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday October 17, 10 am at St Luke Catholic Church 3847 N. Sutter St. Stockton, CA.followed by a reception at the Italian Athletic Club, 3541 N. Cherryland Ave. Stockton. Committal services will take place at Cherokee Memorial Park at 3:00PM following the reception.
