Minervia Elizabeth Cross

Born in Johnson County, Arkansas on July 27, 1921. Raised in Oklahoma. Married to Walter Perry Cross in August 1937, married 51 yrs until his passing in 1988.

She was a wife, mother, and homemaker. Minervia held several jobs throughout her lifetime. She worked as a housekeeper for Hotel Stockton until its closing in 1960. She loved cooking for her family. She loved helping family and friends. She loved sewing.

Minervia was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Wallace and Rachel Cook. Her siblings Curtis Cook, Haskell Cook, Jessie Filkey, Doris Witham, Wilma Mitchell and Wilburn Cook.

She is survived by her daughter Judith Raney (Micheal Raney), four grandchildren Christopher Raney (Mariah), Samuel Raney, Ashley Raney (fiancé John Thorpe), Lesley Reese (Jason), two great grandchildren Kenneth Reese and Jaylee Reese. She is survived by one sister Ruby Jackson who recently turned 102 years. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014 from 2pm-8pm. Funeral Services will be held at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California St., Stockton, Ca 95202 on Friday, Nov. 14, 2014 at 12pm.
