Naomi Cook

Naomi married Albert C. Cook Sr., on March 14, 1943. Together they had 10 children.

Naomi grew up in the Catholic Church, but later in life became a member of Double Rock Baptist Church in San Francisco. After moving to Stockton, CA in 1975, she joined St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Mack Mitchell Jr. There she held many offices and positions, including Mother of the Church.

Naomi’s love and passion for helping children lead her into employment with the San Francisco and Stockton Unified School Districts. She later worked for and retired from Sharpe’s Army Depot.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Sr., and son, Calvin Cook; her parents, and her two sisters, Mildred Keelen, and Marjorie Ginn.

She leaves to cherish her memories her children; Albert Jr. (Wilhemina); Stella (Ronald) Williams, Barbara White, Pat (Joel) Miller; Ernest Sr., Barry (Elaine); Ronnie Sr., Rickey, and Alvin (Michelle) Cook. Grandchildren: Dana (Dave) Lamphere; Darrel & Brett Cook; Barbara Jean & Willie White Jr., Tracy Martin & Tina (Howard) Lee; Ernest Jr., (Angela), Dominic Cook, and Lisa Nobbe; Barry Jr., Bryon (La Toya), Da’Nesha & Danielle Cook; Ronnie II (Kitty), Lonnie (Vanessa), Devon, Brandon Cook, Raveen Ginn; Alexander, Mariama, Mykah & Arion Cook. Forty-nine (49) Great-grandchildren; Four (4) Great-great grandchildren; God child, Dorothy Harper-Smith; nephew, Kenneth Ginn and many great nephews and nieces.

She also leaves her motherly and special relationships with daughters, Rosalind (Cookie) Tanner, Belinda, Pat & Jan Cook; Dr. Daisy Cook, Kathy Edmerson & Allet Williams; sons, Douglas Stewart, Dennis Layne & Calvin Lee. Naomi will also be missed by her church family, neighbors, Brenda Reed, Renada Wright, Gloria & Clint Reiger; and a host of other relatives and friends.
