With hearts full of sorrow yet anchored in faith, we announce the passing of Phoebe Gloria, a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who was called home to be with the Lord on July 31, 2025, at the age of 64.
Born on July 13, 1961, Phoebe was a beacon of love and compassion throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mark Gloria Sr., her parents Anthony and Sarah Maldonado, her brother Michael Maldonado Sr., her father- and mother-in-law Leopoldo Gloria Sr. (Mary), and her brother-in-law Leopoldo Gloria Jr. Their memories remained close to her heart, and she often spoke of them with reverence and gratitude.
Phoebe is survived by her loving sister Rosemary Taylor (William Taylor V), her devoted children Mark Gloria Jr. (Carolyn Gloria) and Sarah Gloria (Dale Boyd), and her treasured grandchildren Leo and Isaac Gloria. She also leaves behind her dear sisters-in-law Yvonne Johnson (Brad) and Yolanda O'Donnell (Corbin), along with a large and loving extended family including aunts, uncles, cousins, many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews—all of whom were touched by her warmth and generosity
A woman of unwavering faith, Phoebe lived her life in service to others. She was a caregiver by nature, always ready to lend a helping hand, offer a prayer, or simply be present in times of need. Her love for God was evident in her daily walk, and she inspired those around her to seek peace and purpose through faith.
Phoebe found joy in the simple pleasures of life—especially cheering for her favorite teams, the San Francisco Giants and the Denver Broncos. She cherished family adventures, whether it was a road trip, a holiday gathering, or a spontaneous outing. Her heart was happiest by the beach, where she found peace in the sound of the waves and the warmth of the sun, often surrounded by loved ones and laughter. She also had a sweet tooth and a special love for tasty desserts, delighting in sharing treats with family and savoring every bite of her favorite confections.
Her legacy is one of love, faith, and service. Though she will be deeply missed, we rejoice in knowing that she has entered into the presence of her Savior, reunited with those who went before her, and now watches over us with eternal grace.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” – Matthew 5:4
