Ramona C. Huerta passed away Friday, June 8, 2012 at home with her loving family by her side after a long battle with cancer at the age of 75. Born February 13, 1937 in Stockton, CA to Louis Huerta and Mercedes Perez she grew up surrounded by a large, loving family. She married Albert Ornelas when she was 17 years old and had six beautiful children. Her children were her life and she dedicated every waking moment to their needs. Ramona worked briefly outside the home and spent the rest of her life as a homemaker. Affectionately known as “Ahma”, she was the ultimate caregiver and homemaker. She was a member of St. George’s Catholic Church and her life was based on her faith in God and the love for her family. She loved listening to mariachi’s and she glowed when her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren surrounded her. Ahma had the strength of a thousand soldiers and rarely complained. Her strength, kindness, warmth, love and affection will be greatly missed. She welcomed everyone with open arms and her kitchen was always open. She was preceded in death by her parents; Louis Huerta and Mercedes P. Huerta; brothers Albert Huerta and Louis Huerta, Jr. and her son Angel H. Ornelas. Ahma is survived by her children Albert (Roxanne) Ornelas, Jr., Angie (Andy) Lopez, Sylvia Ornelas, Mona (Robert) Ornelas and Mercedes (Greg) Perkins; her first husband Albert (Mary) Ornelas, Sr; siblings Herman (Lisa) Huerta, Eddie Huerta, Paul (Mary) Huerta, Ernie Huerta and Angie (Johnny) Gomez; 13 grandchildren, Julian (Melanie) Ornelas, Stephanie (Jimmy) Rocero, Michelle (Brandon) Clark, Krystal (Cyrus) Negrette, Dominic Ornelas, David Rocero, Andrew (Cina) Ornelas, Tiffany (TJ) Negrette, Brianna (Erick) Ornelas, Ashley Nunn, Austin Perkins, Amber Couch and CJ Perkins; 6 great grandchildren, Cianni Negrette, Taliah Fraizer, Thomas Fraizer, Izaiah Nunn, Cruz Clark and Morgan Ornelas; and her dog Princess.
