To Russell’s family and friends,
Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the passing of Russ. I had not seen Russell since we were young adults but often shared memories over FB. I will always remember him for being one of the “fun-loving, crazy Stockton Boys”. RIP Russell.

It deeply saddens me to hear about Russell’s passing even though we’ve only seen each other on a handful of times since our youth.  There are many fond memories of Russ like the first time I met him, a street tough kid but friendly, smart, talking up storm and leaving a big impression…on my arm.  He told a joke and the punchline was literally a punch.  The time he came back one summer and surprised us with a whole new good looking golf swing, said some old pro named Olin Dutra give him some lessons.  There were fun times, mainly golfing, with him, Dick, Jeff, Sam, Mitch, “Arky”, Saffier and the rest of his family.  I’m forever grateful to Russ (and his mom) for letting me pick him up after school at Stockton Jr. High and keeping me company in practice rounds during my senior year in high school.  Also, for accompanying me to a couple of out-of-town tournaments that summer and showing where we can sneak onto Spyglass and play a couple of holes.  That was Russ, going to miss him even more now.

My letter to Russell.
Russ,
I've been thinking a lot about our, I'll call them adventures together. The many road trips we took to Davis, Fresno, Hawaii, Lake Tahoe, Los Angeles, Monterey, San Diego, San Francisco. We enjoyed playing church basketball & Golfing together (I enjoyed playing with you and you put up with me). We enjoyed going to sporting events like the Giants, Raiders, Warriors and the AT&T Golf Tournaments.  You introduced me to many friends from the automotive industry, who were a blast to go with to the Giants games even though a couple of them were Dodger fans! And we shared a very important common interest, Breweries? I want to say, it was my pleasure knowing such a smart, witty, kind, loyal & generous friend. Speaking for Di, Brooke & myself, we will certainly miss you at our special events, holidays and barbeques. 
We love you! Rest in Peace our dear friend!

I became acquainted with Russ through the auto dealership he worked at. When I first met him I of course recognized his name, as I grew up on the west side of Stockton as a friend of his brother Jeff, which gave us a lot to talk about…..I am deeply sorry to learn of his untimely passing…please accept my condolences….Bruce Riley (brriley@pacbell.net)

It’s been many years but I still have vivid memories of the entire Kamibayashi family from their days in Hoover-Tyler LL. Great family! Please accept our condolences for the loss of Russ.

Russ was a great friend who will be missed dearly. I will always remember playing basketball 🏀 and golf ⛳️ with him. He was always humble and fun to be around. I will miss seeing him at Stockton Toyota. My deepest condolences to his family.

Knowing Russ was an absolute pleasure.
Such a kind and gentle spirit, passionate and empathetic, he seemed to live life with a joy for all of its many gifts.

Worked with russ for 12 years. You never know the impact an individual has on you till they are gone. Thank you for every laugh was truly a great guy to be around. By the way this was him photo bombing at work.

Our hearts go out to the Kamibayashi family. Russ was a real gentleman and we are glad to have known him.

Extremely fond memories of Russell.  Every Sunday, for many years, Russ, Tom Cole, James Saffier and I had a standing tee time at Brookside CC.  We talked trash, confided in one another and took each others money.   Incredible short game. 
 Russ was the kindest gentleman I ever met.   Rest in peace my friend.   Go Dodgers and by the way, I still have the Gary Long watch I inched you out of at the St Andrews Invitational Long drive contest.  RIP my friend.  Thanks for the memories and friendship ❤️❤️❤️

Russ was one of the best golfers I have had the pleasure of playing with!!
