Sharon Harden, 82, died peacefully in the early morning hours of October 8, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Stockton, California. Services and her Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, November 2, 2023, 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 8806 Don Avenue, Stockton, California.
Sharon Louise Harden (née Senteney) was born on October 31, 1940, in Carpinteria, California to George Senteney and Virginia MacDonald, the eldest of 5 children. Her high school degree was obtained from Amos Alonzo Stagg High School and an Associate Degree in Nursing was obtained from San Joaquin Delta College. She then went on to be a neonatal intensive care nurse for many years. Sharon married her high-school sweetheart with whom she had 6 children.
Sharon loved all things crafts, crocheting multiple blankets for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was known for her talent of cake making, making thousands of cakes throughout the San Joaquin Valley for decades. She was also an avid reader and demanded that she be allowed to “read in peace” before we all drove her crazy. She gave that love to all of her children, spending many hours discussing various books. Also, she was an avid watcher of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, often arguing trivia questions with the television. She was also a very devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for many decades. She found great solace in the service she provided for her church.
She is survived by 5 of her children: Vicki Standing (Michael), Cynthia Neal, Yvonne Harden, Nancy Williams, and David Harden; 9 grandchildren: Jenna Weischedel (Robert), Erika Jauregui-Farias (Steven), Brandon Neal, Marissa Neal, Lauren Williams, Ken Williams, Justin Harden (Daisy), Britani Harden, Ethan Harden; 3 great-grandchildren: Reagan Weischedel, Kayson Harden, and Kailah Harden; sister Bambi Bryant; and brothers Barry Pitsker and Stephen Pitsker. She is preceded in death by her son Jeremy Harden, granddaughter Kaitlyn Williams, brother Vernon Pitsker, mother Virginia Pitsker, father George Senteney, and stepfather Cooper Pitsker. There was much rejoicing when Sharon crossed over to live with our Heavenly Father.
Sharon has finally taken her McGyver purse and wooden spoon home to Heaven. Her children are all sure once she got there she took out a pen and note paper and began making lists on how to improve the entry process. She also has all of Heaven watching her favorite comedy Weekend at Bernies!
