He leaves behind his loving wife Ethel, his three sons: Robin (Jenny), David (Maria) and Murray (Bonnie) his six grandchildren; Tyler, Arec, Erin, Kennedi, Jake and Sam, his brother Norman (Matilda) and numerous other family and friends. Al was one of sixteen children to Agnus and George of Plum Coulee, MB, being predeceased by his parents, all but one of his siblings, and his eldest son Patrick.
The family has found memories of the farm they grew up on outside of Stony Plain, AB, raising chickens, pigs, cattle and a couple horses. In addition to raising their family and spending time with their grandchildren, Al and Ethel enjoyed multiple trips to Maui, they also loved to curl and golf. Al will be most fondly remembered as a passionate sports fan, particularly at his children and grandchildren’s games, in addition to being a coach for his children’s teams. In his earlier days, Al’s other interests included playing guitar and singing with family and friends. Al spent his working career in the trucking industry and had a talent of buying and selling houses and vehicles. Once retired, Al continued to operate a private pilot truck business well into his late 70s.
Details of a celebration of Al’s life will be shared once confirmed.
