Alexie Obrigewitch

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Alexie Kathleen Obrigewitch (Pertich) of Spruce Grove, Alberta, on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the age of 33. Alexie, along with her third child and second son, Nate Jaxon Obrigewitch, both passed away after complications during delivery at the Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta, surrounded by loved ones.

Alexie was born on June 24, 1991, in Calgary, Alberta, and grew up in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Alexie was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Alexie and Nate are survived by their husband and father, Sean Obrigewitch, and their children and siblings, Ava Obrigewitch (4) and Owen Obrigewitch (17 months).

Alexie also leaves behind her parents, siblings, in-laws and many nieces and nephews. Her parents, Margaret and Walter Pertich of Kelowna, British Columbia. Her sister Nicole Pertich (Patrick Bain, Aiden Bain and Liam Bain), and her brother Paul Pertich (Kirsten Pertich, Samuel Pertich, Lucy Pertich and Rosemary Pertich) both of Edmonton, Alberta. Her parents-in-law Dwayne and Debbie Obrigewitch of Stony Plain, Alberta and Sister in-law Amanda Stromberg (Brandon Stromberg) of Edmonton, Alberta. Alexie was predeceased by her grandparents Lidia and Antonio Milos and Ida and Ermenegildo Pertich, all of Calgary, Alberta.

Alexie had a passion for life and a heart full of compassion both at home and in her career as a respiratory therapist at the Stollery Children's Hospital. She was always willing to go the extra mile for her loved ones and was a source of comfort to those in need. Her contagious laugh could fill a room with joy, and her immense passion for everything she did was evident to all who knew her.
