On Sunday, March 1, 2026, Angus McKenzie passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished brother, and a deeply valued member of his community.
Angus is survived by his beloved wife, Chantal, and their children, Kaylyn, Connor, and Landon, who were the center of his world. He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings: Collin; Elaine (Chris); Rod (Nadia); and Andrew. He will be deeply missed by his parents-in-law, Ted and Judy; his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Paxton (Takako) and Danielle (Wilson); and his niece and nephews: Ryley, Logen, Olivia, Laughlin and Jasper.
He was predeceased by his parents, Norm and Joanne, and his brother, Kenneth, with whom he is now reunited, along with many other loved ones who went before him.
Angus was a man of deep integrity, loyalty, and love. Known for wearing his heart on his sleeve, he lived with honesty and cared fiercely for those around him. He was a quiet strength behind those he loved, always supporting, always present, and always giving more than he asked in return.
He believed deeply in people and in community. Through his involvement in Rotary and many other aspects of his life, Angus gave generously of his time, energy, and heart. The impact he had on those around him will be felt for years to come.
Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, there is comfort in knowing he is now at peace, free from pain, and held in God’s grace.
Angus often said, “We may not always have it together, but together we have it all.” He lived this fully, through his love for his family, his friendships, and the strong community he helped build.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
A Funeral Service will be held at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, 101 McLeod Avenue Spruce Grove, on Friday, April 17, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
Following the service, a separate Reception and Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00–4:00 p.m. at the Pioneer Centre, 301 Jespersen Avenue Spruce Grove. In the spirit of Angus’ love for community, all are welcome to gather, share stories, and celebrate his life, whether or not you attend the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to make a donation in memory of Angus to a charity of your choice, or, in the spirit of the community he cared so deeply about, to the Spruce Grove Rotary Club so they may continue to do good in our community.
