It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Audrey, on October 15, 2023 at the age of 86 years. Audrey was born in Spalding, Saskatchewan on December 29, 1936.
Audrey will be forever remembered by her four children, Lenore (Don Scott) Goodman, Glenda (Ron Martin) Goodman, Cindy Goodman, Jerome (Isabelle Bergeron) Goodman; her six grandchildren, Randy (Evelyn) Goodman, Spencer (Leana) Goodman, Justin Goodman, Adriel Goodman, Renee Goodman and Liana Goodman; four great-grandchildren, Charlize, Scarlett, Rosalie and Oliver Goodman, as well as her sister Gwen (Bob) Palmer, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, James and Dorothy (nee Nordick) Thera, her long-time partner, Frank Glowacki, her brothers Jim (Colleen) Thera and Jerry (Elsie) Thera, and her sister Elaine (Ken) Kort.
Audrey grew up on the family farm in Saskatchewan. She left to attend St. Ursula Convent School in Bruno, Saskatchewan in 1953, graduating in 1954. In 1955 she joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in Clinton, Ontario until July 1958.
She later went on to live, work and raise her children in Thompson, Manitoba, Faro, Yukon, and eventually moved to Stony Plain, Alberta where she enjoyed her retirement years with her partner Frank.
Audrey was a very talented artist and her creativity shone through her many hobbies including painting, pottery, sewing, quilting and crafting.
We would like to extend our gratitude to the staff at Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre for the compassionate care that was provided during Mom’s stay there.
A memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Audrey’s honour can be made to Parkinson’s Canada (Parkinson.ca).
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ParklandFuneralServices.com for the Goodman family.
