Brian Gale Berg

It is with great sadness that the family of Brian Berg of Spruce Grove, AB announces his sudden passing on September 30, 2021 at the age of 66 years. Brian is survived by his loving wife and best friend Wendy; his son Stanley (Brandi); his daughter Amanda (David); His very special grandsons Linden and Reeve, His S-I-L Sharon, his buddy Tao along with numerous relatives and friends that will miss him greatly. He was predeceased by his parents Gordon and Cora, his brother Donald, his parent in laws Larry and Marie.

Brian loved to travel which he got to do as a long haul trucker and also as a family. But most of all his favourite times were camping out at the lake, where we often had a “gang” of friends join. Brian had some of his best times being a Scout Leader with Stanley and then as “Guider Brian” helping with Amanda and her time in Girl Guides. He spent many many hours volunteering at the community league, and the lawn bowling club. But he was in his glory driving his big rigs, Brian spent many years running stateside and then driving north on the winter roads when the “rookies” just wouldn’t. He loved his grandsons, “to the moon and back”. His best buddy Tao is so lost without him - We are all lost without Brian. Brian was such a kind and gentle man, who overcame and fought many health issues in the past few years. We were so sure you had many more years with us…

Due to Covid-19 Protocols the family is having a small private service.

Anyone wishing to make a donation in honour of Brian, may do so to: University Hospital Foundation Alberta Kidney Care North Fund Room 1H1.91 WMC 8440 112 Street, Edmonton,Ab. T6G2B7*

I never really got to know you (Brian), but was pretty close to your wife.
May all the happy memories people created with you, help those get through this difficult time of your loss. May those happy memories and laughs turn the sadness into smiles.

Wendy, so sorry to read about your loss. Age 66 is way too young and 42 years of marriage is a blessing. Although I never met him, he certainly must have been a huge supporter of lawn bowling and that’s how I know you and family, condolences

Though cousin Brian was 6 years my senior, he treated me well as a youth; took me to a couple movies when he got a car, for example.

I recall an upbeat person who smiled often and laughed as much as anyone.

May you rest in peace.

Wendy and family,

We're so saddened to hear about the loss of Brian. You're in our thoughts and prayers.

We look back on the fond memories at the Spruce Grove 4th Boy Scout Group, as well as the PLV community.

Brian's enthusiasim and dedication to his family and the community were an important part of the wonderful memories that were built with all of our boys in Scouting. Those were such wonderful times.

Rest easy and Thank you, Brian.

Very sad to hear of Brian s passing. He was a valued member of our scouting group. Spent many a weekend camping with him. My condolences to the family. If time were diffrent there is a large group of scout leader and former scouts that would have attended the service.
RIP Brian

Wendy, Stan, Amanda and Sharon: Sorry to hear about the passing of Brian. I recall a friend who always had positive energy. Brian was a tireless volunteer for many events that the family was involved with. I recall some great memories out at Isle Lake where we used to camp. The world has lost a good man. Rest peacefully Brian.
