Kori and family,  our most sincere condolences on the passing of Doug.  We got to know him through his hockey coaching years ago in Devon when he coached our son.  May God’s blessings be with you all.

So many fun times growing up in Devon with Kori and Doug and the Gang, cruising down main street, low key parties around the fire, and Florida Pizza!
Doug was always so lovely to me, no judgement on my wardrobe or hanging out with his girlfriend Kori, and I was fortunate to be a bridesmaid at their wedding.
Years later, I was so excited when Doug surprised Kori with a trip to Halifax to visit me and the lobster 🦞, so grateful for his thoughtfulness, he was that guy.

I work at Battery World on the South Side, a place Doug visited every Wednesday. It became my favourite part of the week when I started working here. For the last 3 years I built a relationship with Doug every Wednesday, and then when he started bringing Milo it became an even better day of the week. He made Wednesday mornings a highlight. Doug took an interest in my life, always knew what I was up to, asked when I was graduating, knew when I was leaving to work in Disney, and was always interested in what I had to say… and would always ask me about my team (Oilers) every time they lost. Even though he only saw me Wednesday mornings he always knew what was going on in my life. We had a running joke as well, i would always dress flashy. So he was comment and make a running joke about me holding a fashion show at a Battery Store. 

Doug will truly be missed, and even though I only saw him Wednesdays, he made a true impact on my life and I will always remember him for treating me with such high dignity and respect.

Can't imagine going through our adolescence without our Doug Armitage.  He earned our respect, trust and friendship.   Will always be remembered with a smile as we go through our pictures and memories.  Kori, there are no words, I pray for you and the family to get through.  Love to all. Lots of Memories of Doug, I knew him since grade 9, 1 night we were racing Leduc to Devon on hiway 39,  I passed Doug and the cops followed me so I pulled over, Doug being the great guy he was…..pulled in behind the cops ….we both got 6 demerits and $150 fine in 1977 we were young and that was a lot of $$$.  I asked him why he didn’t keep going… said he just didn’t think about that… always looking out for someone else.  RIP Doug
