

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the quiet passing of Joan Stollings of Edmonton, at the age of 78 years. Joan is lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her devoted husband of 57 years, Cecil; by her dear sister Elaine (Lawrence) Garraway and cherished daughters: Karen (Lester Chute), Sandra, Linda (Lynne Wiltse) and Sue (Phil Mareschal). Also mourning her loss are her adored grandchildren: Les, Robin (Sarah), Laura (Aril), and Aidan. As well, Joan leaves behind numerous extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her father, J. Ross; her mother, Grace; by her brother Doug Cundict, and nephew Terry Garraway.
Joan will be remembered for her humour, generosity and her tireless dedication to her family, friends and community. Her heart cast a huge net, and she will be missed by a large community of family she called friends, and friends she called family.
Joan’s family is very thankful for their wonderful circle of family and friends, and for the compassion and kindness they have shown during this difficult time.
A Memorial Service will be held for Joan at Parkland Funeral Chapel, 3502-44 Avenue, Stony Plain, on September 21, 2012 at 10:30 a.m., with a lunch to follow at the Elks Hall, 400 Diamond Avenue in Spruce Grove.
