Ervin "Erv" Sidney Holtz

Erv was born in Edmonton, to Martha and Arthur Holtz, in 1943. Erv worked in the elevator industry for many years. He went on to become an inspector for the Alberta Government in 1983 where he worked until his retirement in 2004.

Erv loved anything to do with cars and racing and had his own race cars for many years. Music was a lifelong passion for Erv, as well as camping, golfing and travel. Time spent with his grandchildren was very precious to him. He was a warm and out-going man and was happiest when surrounded by family.

He is survived by his loving wife Edie Holtz, son, Jason (Patti), daughter, Kelly (Dave Sokagawa) and grand children, Hudson, Halle, Kamryn and Kristyn. Brothers, Norm (Sally), Ed (Carol). Sisters Elaine Michaels and Sharon Brown. Brothers-in-law and Sister-in-law Phil Flaumitsch (Arlene), Gord Flaumitsch (Marilyn), Rick Flaumitsch (Donna), Bill Erickson and Phyllis Davis (Scott) along with many nieces and nephews.

Erv is predeceased by his sister-in-law Susan Erickson, brother-in-law Bob Michaels and nephew Brett Flaumitsch.

He will be deeply missed by all of us who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation. A private celebration of Erv’s life will be held at a later date.
