Gerard Joseph Ivany

Gerard J. Ivany, 59, passed away peacefully in his sleep December 8, 2016. He is predeceased by his parents, Willamina and Thomas Ivany and his oldest sister Mary (Ivany). He leaves to mourn his loving wife Sheila Ivany (Sexton), daughter Vanessa Ogden and son Johnathan (Jenn) Ivany. Gerard was also Poppy to his six grandchildren Hailey, Kolten, Ava (Ogden), Damian, Nevaeh and Natasha (Ivany). He leaves his brothers Bill and Hilda (Ivany), Jerome and Viola (Ivany) and sister Bunty and Perry (Mugford). As well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Born in Gander, NFLD, grew up in Happy Valley Goose Bay, NFLD, before relocating to Fort McMurray where he met his wife, was married and started his family. A place he called home. Gerard dedicated his life to the church as well as an active member of Knights of Columbus. A devoted family man who always put everyone before himself. A die hard Toronto Maple Leafs fan through their good years and the bad. An amazing father who has seen more Boy Bands and Home Alone movies than he would ever admit.
