It is with great sadness and love that we share Greg Moir passed away on January 9, 2026, at the age of 68.
Born on June 1, 1957, in Edmonton, Greg was a firecracker right from a young age – and he never really slowed down. He was quick-witted, full of personality, and always had something to say.
Greg was truly one of a kind and absolutely full of life. He was the go-to guy for just about everything – house renos, car repairs, problem-solving, or simply sitting down for a good talk. If you needed help, Greg showed up… usually with an opinion, a solution, or a story to go with it.
Greg faced challenges with addiction throughout his life, but that did not define who he was. He was a playful giant with an enormous heart. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and nothing made him prouder than spending time with them.
Greg will be lovingly remembered by Suzanne; his children, Amy (Carson) Beier and their children, Preston (Skye), Jaxon and Addi; and Travis (Julie) Moir and their children, Abi and Everette. He is also remembered by his brother, John (Marianne) Moir; and his sister, Wendy (Gordon) Wendel; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family who were lucky enough to know him.
Greg was predeceased by his Mother, Audrey Moir; his Father, Murray Moir and his sister Debbie Moir.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his big heart, toothless grin and the many lives he touched and for always keeping things interesting.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 2pm at Heritage Park (Parkland Hall Room), 5100-41 Ave, Stony Plain, Alberta. Following the service, the family invites you to stay and share memories of Greg and enjoy a light snack and refreshments.
