It is with profound sadness that the family of JoAnne “Jo” Schultz announces her passing on January 30, 2026, with her family by her side.
Born and raised in Stony Plain, Alberta, Jo remained deeply rooted in the community she cherished throughout her life. In 1979, she married her soulmate, Rick Schultz, and together they built a life filled with love, raising two children, Lori and Richard. Jo’s greatest joy was her family, to whom she devoted herself wholeheartedly.
Her tender heart extended to her many family pets over the years, whom she cared for with immense kindness and love. A gifted and creative spirit, Jo spent countless hours sewing and crafting, infusing beauty and care into everything she created. Having grown up on a farm and later living on the family homestead, Jo embraced the hard work of maintaining the property she felt deeply connected to. She took great pride in her gardens, nurturing vibrant flowers and ensuring the birds at her feeders were well cared for.
Her gentle, soft-spoken nature and caring heart touched everyone she met. Jo never greeted or parted from loved ones without a warm hug—a gesture that will be deeply missed.
Jo will be lovingly remembered by her children, Lori (Bow) Sanderson and Richard (Jody) Schultz; her sisters, Karen Gibb and Maureen (Tom) Schiedeman; and numerous extended family members and dear friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Rick, her parents, George and Mary Altheim, and her brother-in-law, Greg Gibb.
A Memorial Service will be held on February 18, 2026, at 11:00 am at Stony Plain United Church (5012 51st Ave).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jo’s memory may be made to the Light Up Your Life Society at [email protected].
