1959 – 2026
Kenneth “Ken” Spilak passed away on January 17, 2026, at the age of 66. Born in 1959, Ken lived a life defined by hard work, laughter, and deep love for his family and friends.
Ken will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years, Janice; his daughters, Megan (Brian) and Stacy (Curtis); and his cherished grandchildren, Nova and Memphis. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who were fortunate to share in his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Tillie Spilak; his brother, Walter; and his sisters, Lil and Carol.
A true working man, Ken took pride in what he did and brought joy wherever he went. Known for his great sense of humor. In the shop, he was a familiar and beloved presence—often dancing, singing, and lifting the spirits of those around him.
Ken’s passions reflected his playful and creative nature. He enjoyed video games, woodworking, and settling in to watch horror movies. He was especially proud of his massive nutcracker collection, which grew to over 200 pieces. Later in life, he began collecting Funko Pops and rarely missed an opportunity to place an Amazon order. Above all else, Ken loved his family, his friends, and his pets wholeheartedly.
Kenneth Spilak will be forever loved, deeply missed, and fondly remembered for the joy, laughter, and warmth he brought into the lives of so many.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Edmonton Humane Society.
