(1958-2024)
It is with heavy hearts that her family announces the sudden passing of Laura Adam on February 5, 2024.
Laura is predeceased by her parents Kurt and Helene (née Hohenstein) Adam and husband Colin Casebeer. She leaves behind her brother Harry (Becky) Adam and sister Carmen (Byron) Metz; two children, Mathew (Brittney) Pechtel and Carley (Daniel) Munro; and two beloved granddaughters, Charlotte and Elliot.
Laura was born in Edmonton on January 17, 1958 and spent her life raising her family in the city before retiring to Stony Plain. After a career as a legal secretary for prominent local law firms, she devoted her life to her two small children as a stay-at-home-mom.
Laura enjoyed cooking and hosting dinner parties with friends, spending weekends at the lake, and travelling the world with her family.
In her retirement, Laura, along with Colin, travelled thousands of kilometers in their motorhome exploring Canada. She also devoted many years to helping raise her granddaughters, enjoyed volunteering at the local food bank, and was fond of spending time with the ladies of the Preceptor Alpha Lambda Sorority.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on February 15, 2024 at Parkland Funeral Services (3502 44 Avenue, Stony Plain, AB).
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Stony Plain and Parkland Pioneer Museum (https://www.pioneermuseum.ca/donate) where she spent many happy hours volunteering at the Tea House, or to Infinite Woofs Animal Rescue Society (https://infinitewoofs.com) from where she adopted her beautiful black lab, Karma.
