Mary Rita Giese

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that the family of Mary Giese share the news of her passing peacefully, surrounded by family at the age of 69 years after a long and courageous battle with MS. We take solace in knowing that she is no longer struggling, or in pain, and that she is in a much better place.

Cherishing Mary’s memory are her husband of 48 years Doug; her daughter Stacey; her son Jason (Andrea); grandsons Logan & Adam; siblings: Ivan (Loretta), Ryan (Elaine), Doreen, Ruby (Jim), Debbie (Len), Connie (Robert); brother-in-law Garry as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Mary was predeceased by her parents Leonard & Tillie Meyer; her sister Judy and by her infant brother Johnny.

Mary will be remembered for her competitive spirit when playing ball, golfing, playing cards or all night washer board tournaments. She also loved gardening, camping and traveling, but mostly for her love of family and friends-especially for her grandsons Logan & Adam who always put a smile on her face and a sparkle in her eyes, especially when they were helping her make cookies or doing a puzzle.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Mary at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Parkland Funeral Chapel, 3502 – 44 Avenue, Stony Plain, AB.
